It’s Father’s Day. Maybe you have a wonderful relationship with your dad…maybe you don’t. Maybe your relationship with him is roller-coasterish and complicated. Or maybe you’ve lost your dad, and today makes you miss him even more.
Whatever feelings you might have for your father, I can tell you that you do have a heavenly Father who is thinking of you, loving you, and always wanting the best for you.
And on this day, if you are hurting or scared or angry….if you have some secret pain that nobody else knows about…if you feel insecure, unloved, and alone…He is waiting for you to let Him comfort you. 1 Peter 5:7 says that we can cast all our cares upon him, for He cares for us. And, today, I know that Jesus is saying to you, “Come unto me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matt 11:28) In John 14:27, He says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Let not your heart be troubled, don’t let it be afraid.”
His rest and His peace that can come to you in the middle of any trouble is waiting for you…wherever you are today, He is there.
