I don’t know your circumstances. I don’t know if your week has been good, bad, or in-between. I don’t know how you’re feeling, what you hope, or what you might fear.
But even with all of these things I don’t know, there are some things of which I am certain.
You, my friend, were fearfully (carefully, tenderly!) and wonderfully (in the image of God!) created. This means that you are who you are for a reason. Each of us are a part of the body of Christ…which means that I need you and you need me and we both need that lady over there and the guy next to us and so on and so forth….so push aside that temptation to compare yourself to him or her and remember that the Lord of All knit you together in your mother’s womb on purpose and with purpose. This family needs you to be you! And when we fully surrender all of who we are and allow Him to use it all for His kingdom? I think that’s when we’ll begin to ‘shine like stars’ in this universe…brightly beaming with His love.
Speaking of His love…our Father loves you with a love that is lavish, extravagant, and eternal! What freedom from fear we’ll experience when we believe this: whatever the story He is writing with our lives, He is laying out our steps on a foundation of His love for us! So we can give our worries and our frustrations to Him, knowing that He is working it all out for our good and will give us His strength in the meantime. With love, He redeems. With love, He sustains. With love, He comforts. With love, He disciplines. With love, He molds us. With love, He offers peace that we can’t understand. With love, He is with us.
Yes, God is with you–He is Emmanuel! And so you are not alone, however you may feel. Like I said, I don’t know your situation — but He does. Because of that unfailing love, because He created you and longed to redeem you as His own child — Jesus gave His life so that we can “boldly approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
So, as this week comes to a close…hold these truths close to your heart: the King of Heaven and Earth created you, loves you, and is with you. (And when you take time to seek Him, you will find everything that you need.)
