On this rainy Saturday, I’d like to share a few things I found, heard, or was inspired by over the course of the week…
If you’ve ever looked at the So Beloved facebook page, you know how much I admire the music of All Sons and Daughters. I was excited when they released a new ep this week and thrilled to discover that we can listen to the songs streaming on their website for…free! I’m not sure how long this will be available, but I definitely recommend that you check it out while it is! I watched the video below, which explains the inspiration behind the theme of the ep, and was moved by their desire to worship…and I absolutely love these lyrics on the title track: Love is and always was/the longing place inside my heart/to know You/and be known by You.
An article from Relevant Magazine talks about something that has been on my mind often lately…the importance of who we are in a society that places so much value in what we do. It’s a good reminder that our worth is in who we are in God and not in our resumes.
I read this quote by Oswald Chambers…
“Let the past sleep, but let it sleep on the bosom of Christ, and go out into the irresistible future with Him.”
It went right along with a wonderful talk I listened to (while finally putting away all of the clean clothes that were piled in the laundry basket) by Dr. Jerry Root about forgiveness.
He tells the best story I’ve ever heard about C.S. Lewis during this talk about a little boy who was worried that he loved Aslan more than he loved Jesus. Trust me, you want to hear this one!
This video was forwarded on to me by a friend from a friend (friends who offer so much in their words at CWO)…and I am so challenged by these words…so incredibly humbled…I’m left praying that my heart is His alone.
Finally, friends, I hope that your weekend is full of loveliness and rest. Remember that you are never alone. Remember that you are always loved.
Praise be to the Lord, for He has heard my cry for mercy. The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to Him in song. ~Psalm 28:6-7
