I Will Not Forget (Music Monday)

Sometimes the weight of grief fills our hearts and it is hard to take another step. Sometimes the future is uncertain and our world feels unsteady. With our vision blurry, our shoulders aching with the burdens of it all, sometimes we just don’t know what to do.

I think that when everything else is uncertain, we must hold onto what we do know. And I know that the voice of Jesus is calling, even — especially — in these times and He is saying ‘Come to Me. All you who are weary and heavy-laden, come to Me.” (Matt. 11:28). I know that when everything else shifts beneath our feet, our Father remains steady and sure. He upholds us with His own right hand. When we grow weary and fall, He gives us strength to walk again. He is with us in the good times and in the worst times, and He is ever-present in every time of need…we “keep our eyes always on the Lord. With Him at our right hand, we will not be shaken.” (Psalm 16:8)

We can trust Him. We can center our lives on Him and find peace, despite everything else that changes. He leads us through this life and He will guide us into the eternal light of His presence…never forsaking us, not even for a moment.

If you don’t know what to do today, hold onto what you do know. Run to Him and cling to Him. His ways – even when we can’t understand – are always perfect, always good. If you need somewhere safe to find refuge, He is your strong tower — His arms are open and His love is unshakeable.

  1. I was so tired Sunday morning, I couldn’t hardly wake up. After staying with Melvin for 3 days at the hospital, I was exhausted. Emotionally I was on the verge of breaking down. It was so hard to see Melvin with a feeding tube on top of getting cancer treatments and then having to help him pour Boost into his feeding tube. I had never done anything like that and I certainly never thought I would have to do it for my big. strong husband. So I debated on whether I could go to church and hold it together plus I was just so tired! This verse came to me; ‘Come to Me. All you who are weary and heavy-laden, come to Me and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28). So I told the Lord I needed His rest and strength and I was going to church to receive it. I waited through praise and worship for the anointing of rest to come to me. Then we started singing, “You deserve the Glory and the honor. Lord , we lift our hands in worship as we lift Your Holy name….. For You are great, You do miracles so great, there is no one else like You, there is no one else like You”. I felt the stirring in my soul of His Presence. I went to the altar and truly worshiped Him and received His rest, His power and His strength. Our pastor came to the platform and said, “The Lord is saying: ” Come to Me. All you who are weary and heavy-laden, come to Me and I will give you rest.” Then I saw this same verse in your post today which by the way spoke directly to my heart. So if anyone else feels tired, overwhelmed, or on the verge of a breakdown, go to Him, He will truly give you rest and strength for whatever you are facing.
